-
Why are your prices so much lower than other overseas shipping companies?
With California Shipping, everything is done "in-house," when shipping your vehicle or personal items, therfore we are able to pass the price savings onto our customers.
-
I'm worried about the safety of my vehicle. How safe is it before it gets shipped?
All of the containers California Shipping ships to our overseas ports of destination are loaded in our securely gated facility in Stanton, CA. Your vehicle is VERY SAFE when it is on premises! Many other shipping companies will share the same container at a loading dock somewhere, therefore, other people and other companies have access to your property. That does not happen with California Shipping, Inc.

Once I'm ready to go, how quickly does my vehicle get shipped?
Shipping vehicles overseas is not like shipping something small that can fit inside an envelope and be there by 10:30 the next morning. Several things need to be taken care of before the vehicle can leave its port here in California. We work diligently to get your vehicle ready as quickly as possible. On average, the timeframe can be 10 - 14 days once we've received your committment. However, this is not an exact timeframe. Some vehicles might take longer because of missing paperwork, or they may ship out sooner. Every shipment is a little different. With that said, California Shipping's expertly-trained staff make sure that all of the i's are dotted and all of the t's are crossed before your vehicle gets shipped to avoid any unforeseen issues.

What documents do I need in order to export a vehicle?
You need an original Certificate Of Title and a Bill Of Sale. These MUST be the originals. Not photocopies. Make sure the owner of the vehicle you are buying has the originals and that the transaction is not paperless. The vehicle can also be shipped with an MSO (Manufacturerer's Statement of Origin) and this must be the original.
-
If I don't have a Certificate Of Title?
If there is no certificate of title, either the seller or buyer can apply for one. Please be aware that there may possibly be additional fees like sales tax and back fees if the car is not registered. If the seller has lost the title, he can apply for a duplicate which takes anywhere between 2-6 weeks. Please contact any DMV office for further details or visit: www.dmv.org/

You will need to have a packing list of the personal goods you are taking with you. Do I need insurance?
Marine insurance is optional and at your discretion. There will absolutely be no coverage for shipments moving without insurance. We offer the following insurances: "Total loss only insurance" or "All risk insurance".
Total Loss insurance only covers if your vehicle cannot be recovered or salvaged. All Risk insurance covers total loss and damages from loading and unloading. A deductible of 3% or $500 minimum is applied to any claim.
Please notify any of our staff before the vehicle is packed should you opt to purchase marine insurance.
-
What about foreign customs?
Most foreign governments require duties for any imported goods which are payable at the destination. You will need to provide receipts for all incoming goods. Our agents overseas will be glad to assist you with your questions or inquiries on port or customs regulation at destination.

Do you ship vehicles that do not fit inside containers (over dimensional)?
We do not offer this service at this time.

Can you arrange for a container to arrive at a specific date?
All dates (departure/arrival) are estimates and based on information provided to us by the carriers. They may change at any point before or during transit so, therefore, they're not guaranteed. However, we furnish our customers with any updates as we receive them.
